Messi Stays at Inter Miami!!
The Greatest of All Time!!
Having arrived less than four months in the less famous and equivalently unattractive Major League Soccer to play for Inter Miami and winning them their first League Cup in August, the rumors circulating about his departure remain futile. According to the Argentinian footballing idol’s agent, Jorge Messi, his client, Messi, had an agreement with the Beckham’s Inter Miami and would keep his end of the contractual agreement to see his career through in the United States. According to their signed contractual agreement, the 36-year-old football magician is bound to stay until his time runs out in 2025. In addition to the term limit, the contract also gives a leeway for Messi to extend his stay at Inter Miami by another year. However, punters believe every contractual agreement have the possibility of reversion.
Messi revamped Inter Miami’s
winning mojo within the first few weeks of his arrival. Beckam’s recruitment
team led a footballing revolution through candid recruitment process bringing
in the likes of Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquet, the veteran midfield maestro.
Messi’s arrival only jelled the chemistry that had existed among the three Barcelona
legends. At that time, an additional gem, Suarez, was also tempted to terminate
his contract at Gremio to rekindle the attacking duo once hailed as the best
attacking combination in world football at Barcelona. This dream failed to
become fruitful as transfer conditions failed to materialize. It is shelved!!
Within the first month of his arrival at Intern Miami, Messi’s
influence sparkled a wining streak at a club that had since ranked at the
bottom of the league. Intern Miami, for the first time in their history, went unbeaten
in 12 consecutive games with Messi scoring rampantly within that streak. It is
within that similar timeframe that Inter Miami won the League Cup for the first
time in the club’s history.
To evaluate Messi’s impact on winning games at Inter, while he was out of the squad, the club won only 2 of their 6 matches against 5 out of 6 where Messi was included. These statistics add to the Argentinian’s footballing prowess over the years for the past 18 years or so.
For the past 18 years, Messi has not only ranked as one of the best players in the world, but also won awards complementing his stature in the world football. With the coming Balon’ dor (2023) which shows Messi is to win, it will be his 8th time winning the trophy, with only Cristiano Ronaldo coming in second to him with 6. Without taking any credit from Ronaldo’s achievements, it is only fair to measure the might of any athlete by the number of medals each win during the competition. All factors considered; Messi rises above the ranks.
As at the time of this article, the world knows that the imminent
winner of the next Balon’ dor is Messi. This information is not only in the
public domain, but those who will present the trophy to Messi, Drogba, hints at
his imminent win. But then wait a minute, does this bring in pressure on Messi
to seek European football again?
This is the big question. After this win, will Messi desire
to set the bar higher for the upcoming players such as Mbappe and Haaland by
returning to Europe?
This is the big question cracking punters’ heads, making
them believe that the rumors about Messi’s potential move back to Camp Nou could
be imminent. Yes, there are reasons to believe Messi could fancy a King’s
return at the club he knew as a youth and cried profusely when he had no option
but to leave without saying goodbye to the fans who stuck by him for more than
21 years. Of which, within those years, he met their expectations.
More insights from the magician’s camp state that he is
focused on Intern Miami and the coming COPA America games. Unlike Angel Di
Maria, Messi’s Argentine attacking counterpart, who has announced that he’ll
retire from International football after the 2024 COPA America, there’re no
indicative measures showing Messi will hang his boots and shy from representing
his country any time soon. After all, he is loudly spoken. If he had such intentions,
he could have announced his retirement just like he’s retired twice from the
International football only to show up once more.
Punters pen their argument about Mess’s imminent return to
Camp Nou on Xavi’s pronouncements regarding their relationship with Messi in
the previous transfer window before the Argentine chose to join Beckam’s
struggling Inter Miami. If the current rumors about his return to Barca were
any true, they could be more accurate in the last transfer window. Because,
according to major newrooms including main football reporting media houses
including Skysports, Messi was on the verge of rejoining with Xavi and Barcelona.
During the previous transfer window, news regarding Messi’s
return was always considered a possibility due to indications from Barca’s president,
Joan Laporta. Laporta continuously hinted to the media he’d like Messi to
return to Camp Nou as he stated “We have an unfinished business with Leo.”
According to Laporta, Messi will return to Camp Nou at some point in time, whether
as a player or a manager, something most people could fathom.
Is this increasing pressure from punters culminating to
anything? It is not in my position to answer. You cannot take my words for it,
but Messi’s agents. According to my news sourcing, Messi is likely to stay in
MLS for a very long time. Maybe as long as his footballing Gods tell him to
keep kicking the ball. However, it is also in the public domain that he’d love
to retire at his childhood club, Newell’s Old Boys. All these, are punters’ speculations.
In summation, since his arrival in MLS, Messi has done
nothing but be the best version of him better than he was at his previous clubs
according to performance and the rejuvenated love for the game. Despite the
loan rumors to Barcelona during the MLS season break, it is confirmed the
football magician will wait for the season to open while using that break to go
for vacations with his family. Messi if fully focused on Inter Miami and no
other footballing activity would persuade him to leave the club he now finds a second
home.
